Marvel releases trailer for ‘Agatha All Along’ featuring Kathryn Hahn and Aubrey Plaza | Vopbuzz.com

Marvel has released the first trailer for Agatha All Along, an upcoming spinoff of Disney+’s WandaVision series. The series will see Kathryn Hahn reprise her role as Agatha Harkness, with WandaVision head writer Jac Schaeffer returning as an executive producer and head writer on the spinoff. Variety initially reported the Marvel series was in development in October 2021.

According to the official logline, “The infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps her free herself from a twisted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witch Road, a magical testing ground that, if she survives, will reward the witch with what she lacks. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen assemble a desperate coven and head down, down, down the Road.”

The cast includes Aubrey Plaza as witch Rio Vidal, Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan, Patti LuPone as 450-year-old witch Lilia Caldera, Sasheer Zamata as sorceress Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn and Debra Jo Rapp. The trailer mixes genres, starting with a hard-boiled murder mystery as Agatha Khan investigates Wanda’s dead body after her apparent death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The trailer then moves on to scenes of witchcraft and chaos as Agatha reunites with old sorceress allies to regain her powers.

In WandaVision, Han’s character was first introduced as Agnes, the nosy neighbor of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) in Westview. She later reveals herself as Agatha, a centuries-old witch. The WandaVision finale features an epic battle between Agatha and Wanda, ending with Wanda trapping Agatha under her false identity as Agnes.

The series had several working titles before settling on Agatha All Along, including Agatha: House of Harkness, Coven of Chaos, Darkhold Diaries, and The Lying Witch With Great Wardrobe. The song “Agatha All Along,” written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, became an internet sensation after its debut in the seventh episode of WandaVision. While its return to the spinoff has not been confirmed, the Oscar-winning writers discussed the inspiration for the tune with Variety.

Agatha Forever will premiere two episodes on September 18 on Disney+.
