Pop Smoke’s alleged killer speaks out in new interview | Vopbuzz.com

Blockstar, one of rapper Pop Smoke’s alleged killers, discussed the 2020 murder in a new interview with No Jumper. The suspect, who was a minor at the time, expressed no remorse for his actions during the July 4 interview.

“I don’t regret anything,” Blockstar said. “It shouldn’t have happened, but I don’t regret it. If I could go back, I would. But I don’t regret it. People die every day. [Pop Smoke] rapped about it. All kinds of things. So I don’t regret it. I send my condolences to the family. I wish it never happened. But I don’t regret anything.”

Blockstar further explained his lack of remorse, saying, “When I was growing up, my people, my family, they told me, ‘You don’t have to apologize for anything. Whatever you did, you did it for a reason and you stand by that.'”

Pop Smoke was killed during a home invasion in Los Angeles. Blockstar was one of four people charged in connection with the murder, three of whom were minors at the time and were tried as juveniles. Corey Walker, the only defendant tried as an adult, is awaiting trial.

Blockstar insists the killing was not premeditated. “It was a robbery,” he said. “Nobody sent us. Nobody did any of this. It’s all false information.”

He claimed there was no intention to kill Pop Smoke and that they did not expect anyone to be home. “Nobody was supposed to get hurt,” he said. “We were just kids being kids — kids from the hood. There was too much activity, too much going on. It wasn’t intentional.”

Blockstar, who served several years in prison, said his sentence was too lenient, although he did not specify what punishment would have been more appropriate.
