Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta is famous for starting the #MeToo movement in the Indian film industry in 2018. At that time, the actress had accused actor Nana Patekar, choreographer Ganesh Acharya, director Vivek Agnihotri and others of sexual misconduct. During a conversation with the media, Tanushree took Nana to task when a reporter asked some questions related to him. He refused to talk about him because he was now “irrelevant”. She said that she did not want to give him any “publicity” by taking his name on a public platform.

Pointing towards Patekar’s upcoming film ‘The Vaccine War’ with Agnihotri, a journalist asked the ‘Aashiq Banaya Aapne’ actress why the people who ruined her career are doing films and they are not getting any offers. The 39-year-old actress further said that she does not want to give publicity by talking about him. He recalled how in 2008 Nana’s film was not selling and hence, he asked him to do a cameo in his film to make it work. Tanushree claimed that even today these people need her name to run their films. He said:

“Even today, Nana Patekar can’t sell his films on his own, so he instigates the media to ask me questions about his films and I, like Jwalamukhi, will say something that will bring fame to his film. They are already on the road anyway.”

Tanushree Dutta had accused Nana and Vivek of serious sexual harassment in 2018. She said she was harassed by Patekar on the sets of the 2009 film ‘Horn OK Please’ and by Agnihotri during the making of the 2005 film ‘Chocolate’. The actress had filed a complaint with the Cine and Television Artistes Association (CINTAA) for damage to her property and reputation.
