PTI concerned over Imran’s health, alleges denial of medical care | Vopbuzz.com

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has sounded the alarm over the health and treatment of its founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, expressing deep concern over his well-being.

The party raised the issue of denial of medical services to one of the country’s most prominent leaders.

In a statement posted on social media, PTI criticised the Adiala jail administration for allegedly ignoring court orders and repeatedly denying medical treatment to Imran Khan, who they claim is being illegally detained.

They questioned why the current regime, allegedly backed by the establishment, was continually denying Imran Khan his legal right to medical care and prohibiting necessary medical tests, including blood tests.

The party also provided a copy of the application dated April 10, 2024, seeking enforcement of the court order to conduct a comprehensive medical examination and blood tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital as recommended by Dr Asim Yusuf during the previous medical examination.

In a statement filed with the accountability judge, Imran Khan’s legal team highlighted his long service to the country and stressed the urgency of conducting the recommended blood tests.

PTI leaders stressed that any delay in conducting these tests could pose a serious threat to Khan’s well-being, especially given his imprisonment in connection with what they called “fake and bogus cases” filed by political opponents.

The petition also sought an examination by an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist Dr Kashif Iqbal Malik to address specific medical issues. They requested the court to direct the superintendent to promptly arrange for blood samples to be collected by Dr Faisal Sultan of Shaukat Khanum Hospital and facilitate an ENT examination by Dr Kashif Iqbal Malik, highlighting the urgency of the matter.
